Art Flow

For High School

Art Flow is a free after school art program for area high school students who are undeserved in the arts or have limited financial means for classes. Water Street provides a dynamic art center, full of energy and creativity, where students can flourish while developing their unique artistic expression. At Art Flow, participants explore welding, ceramics, drawing, jewelry design, sculpture, photography, painting and mixed media under the guidance of visiting professional artists. Art Flow meets every Thursday afternoon at WSS from 3-4:30 pm.

Art Flow at Batavia Apartments

Twice a week committed WSS artists, interns and volunteers bring enriching art activities to the children residing at Batavia Apartments. In a safe and caring environment, Pre-K through 8th grade students explore the arts by focusing on creative play, group art projects, music and community connections. This program meets on Tuesday from 4-6:15 pm and Wednesday from 5-6pm.

For more information please call Katherine Kratzer, Art Flow Facilitator, 630.272.5963 or email info@waterstreetstudios.com

Both Art Flow programs run year around and are generously supported by Batavia United Way and the Boeing Employee Community Fund.

Help Us Help Other!
A major part of our mission at Water Street Studios is to bring art to children who are at-risk or those who come from families who can not afford the programming. Art education at all levels is important to bring up well rounded citizens who will participate in the community and continue to contribute as they develop.

How Can You Help?
We are asking for you to help by doing two easy things:
FIRST - Visit our online campaign. http://www.indiegogo.com/ArtFlow From here, you can learn more about our program and you can donate.
SECOND - Please spread the word. Either by e-mail, Twitter, Facebook... The more people who know about this campaign, the more we can raise and the more
we can help.

What is Art Flow?
Art Flow is a summer camp and after school program put on by Water Street Studios in conjunction with Batavia Apartments and other local service agencies. By working together, we identify the children in our community who are at-risk and offer them this programming.

How Does Art Flow Work?
Art Flow serves students pre-K through 12th grade. Twice a week, elementary and junior high students who live at Batavia Apartments enjoy art activities hosted in their community room.
High school students from all over the region attend weekly classes at Water Street Studios.

What Will $5,000 Do?
Quite simply, these funds will assure our programming at Batavia Apartments continues into the fall semester 2012. Funding for such programs is not easy to come by. We know that the residents of the Fox Valley will come together to support this program and give these children the opportunities that all deserve.

What Happens to My Donation?
We are looking to raise $5,000 and all of the funds will go through PayPal. When you donate, your pledge is held onto by PayPal. If we reach our $5,000 goal, your pledge will then be deposited into our account. If we do not reach the goal, then we receive nothing and your donation will be returned. This is a fundraising
method called "crowdfunding".

Why "Crowdfunding"?
The website we are using is Indieogogo. It is similar to other crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter. These are convenient ways to get our message out. Not only to
those who are in regular contact with us, but the entire world. That is why your help is so important.

What Will The Funds Go To?
The money raised will go to pay professional working artists to host the classes as well as provide materials for the classes. Program administration is completely voluntary, so the funds received are going DIRECTLY to providing high quality education for these children.

Do You Want To Do More?
You have donated and told all of your friends, but you still want to help more? We welcome your assistance! Please e-mail us at info@waterstreetstudios.com. We can always use volunteers. And there are larger sponsorship opportunities available for individuals or businesses who want to help us create a sustainable
funding base.
