Water Street Studios announces a call for entries to its first of many themed show, "illuminate". illuminate will explore light in all of its forms and is open to conceptual interpretation: mechanically lit pieces are welcome, as are depictions of luminescence, as well as conceptual pieces. Work in all media accepted. This will be a dimly lit show, with the gallery's house lights off and sporadic track lights on.

For this show we will also exhibit work in the addictional 3,800 sq ft space adjacent to our already large gallery. This space will have all it's lights off and feature work that is self-illminating. Large sculpture and installations are welcomed!
This show will begin at 6pm (5pm for members) and Best of
Show will be annoucned at 7pm in the main floor gallery. Out of the
many artists who submit for the show, the jury panel will select
several Honorable Mentions Artists and one
Best of Show.

Submission Guidelines
Artwork will be displayed in the first gallery, and a maximum of four pieces per artist will be accepted for consideration. The gallery is looking for work which has not been on shown at Water Street Studios previously. Prospective artists are invited to submit artwork for display. There is a nonrefundable application fee of $30.
All forms of art are invited including paintings, sculptures, drawings, mosaics and photographs. Artists must be willing to loan works of art for display for the entire period of the exhibition. Exhibitions will run up to four months.
Eligibility:
Artists do not have to be a Water
Street Studios resident artist to exhibit in the gallery. Water
Street Studios Gallery is open to all visual artists who meet the
following criteria:
▪ Artists working in any media
▪ Art students currently enrolled in a college or
university
Each Water Street Studios show will spotlight several pieces selected by the guest juror as Honorable Mentions and one Best of Show. Best of Show artists will be invited to hang a two week solo show in the 2nd floor gallery (a value of $200).
Honorable Mention artists will receive free advertising on our website, our facebook page, and in our newsletter. Images of honorable mention work will also be used on the show announcement collateral.
Awards:
Out of the many artists who submitted for the show, the jury panel selects Honorable Mentions Artists and one Best of Show.

Audio Tour:
Artists have the option to be part of the gallery's Audio Tour to speak about their work, process, or record something significant to them for our visitors to listen to on MP3 players as they tour the gallery. How to Apply
(PLEASE NOTE: Electronic submission of
application and/or artwork images will not be accepted. Application
packet and artwork images must be sent by mail or hand delivered
and must include all required information listed below in order to
be considered.) Artists interested in submitting artwork
for consideration must complete and submit an
application packet which includes the
following:
- Digital images of your proposed artwork on a CD (if submitting
three dimensional artwork, such as sculpture, images must show at
least three viewpoints of each piece).
NOTE: All digital images must be jpeg files. CD's will not be returned. Emailed images will not be accepted. Please label images with their respective names in the following manner:

An additional 4 images can be submitted for an extra $15. (please make checks payable to: Batavia Artists Association nfp, Inc.).
- A copy of the artist's resume (optional).
- Additional narrative on a separate sheet of paper describing the composition of the artwork being submitted (optional, but recommended).
- Completed Gallery Application Packet.
- If your works are smaller pieces in larger quantities
(i.e. jewelry, etc.), please attach your own artwork description
with item name and pricing since we only allow for four pieces on
the application. We need a detailed Inventory From so we can
catalog it into our system accordingly. Please use this
