School of Art
Welcome! Water Street Studios
offers a community-based arts education program geared towards
children, teens, adults and senior citizens - from beginners to
experts. It is our philosophy that everyone from preschoolers to
seniors can use art in their lives.
We offer an amazing variety of classes on a trimester schedule.
All Water Street Studios classes are staffed by professional and
working artists. What inspires
you?
Greetings from the Director of Education:
This class booklet has to be one my favorites we have ever
offered. I am very excited to be able to host so many amazing
classes. We were able to expand our printmaking department with the
addition of a Color Relief Printmaking class. Our jewelry classes
have now been revamped with some old favorites and new classes; my
personal favorite is Cold Connections where you are building upon
basic foundations and creating connections without the use of the
torch. Our children's programming is also evolving, and we now have
a class devoted to watercolors and a drawing foundations course,
among others, just for kids.
Our ceramics department has expanded the most, to my delight. We
are now able to offer a wheel class for kids as well as
hand-building and tile painting classes, in addition to our ever
popular class - Beginning Ceramics on the Wheel for adults. This
way we will further utilize the wheels we received through a grant
from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.
We here at WSS also strive to give the students the best possible
creative experience; therefore we are always open to hosting a
class based on your interests. Just get together a minimum of three
students and we can offer any one of our classes as a private
session or if you are interested in learning a skill currently not
offered I will work to find an instructor to create a custom class
just for you.
See you around the Studios!
